About Hema Vyas

Hema Vyas is a dynamic Program Evaluator, Consultant, and Speaker with over 20 years of global experience in tackling complex challenges, and building sustainable solutions. With a Credentialed Evaluator (C.E.) designation from the Canadian Evaluation Society (CES), Hema is renowned for her excellence in impact measurement, strategic planning, and partnership development. Her expertise spans diverse sectors including analysis of labour market & training, system-wide education from elementary through to post-secondary, and housing programs.

As founding partner of D-sides Working Solutions, Hema works with organizations to measure, adapt, and succeed by aligning performance to goals and leveraging resources efficiently to focus on forward momentum. Her approach blends creativity with rigorous discipline, using participatory methods to move towards successful outcomes.

Hema has led numerous workshops on  a wide range of topics that speak to her experience on program measurement, key performance indicators, increasing civic engagement, building successful campaigns, and organization partnership building. Her commitment to innovative evaluation practices is evident in her creation and execution of consultation tools including interviews, focus groups, and surveys.

Beyond her professional achievements, Hema’s community impact is profound. Hema has served on several boards, including Working Women Community Centre and Culturelink. She ran for Toronto City Council in 2010, and used her experience to mentor future leaders through Women Win TO—a program she founded to train women to run for political office. Today, Women Win TO proudly counts elected alumni at municipal and provincial levels among its successes.

Hema holds a Master of Science in Planning and Development from the University of Guelph and a Bachelor of Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education/University of Toronto. Her dedication to creating a better world through strategic vision, community engagement, and innovative evaluation continues to drive her impactful work.
